Corvaden

A machinery defect that is diagnosed correctly is almost always cheaper to repair than one that is opened up first. Corvaden attends with measuring equipment and reports what the readings show — clearances, deflections, alignment offsets, vibration signatures — before recommending a scope of work.

Repairs are executed on board, alongside, at anchorage or in a partner yard, depending on what the defect requires and where the vessel is trading. Where an overhaul needs shop facilities, components are removed, sent out under Corvaden supervision, and reinstalled by the same team that dismantled them.

Corvaden is not tied to an OEM. Where an original part is the correct answer it is specified. Where a qualified equivalent will hold in the application, that option is put in front of the owner with the difference in specification, lead time and price stated.
