Casualty repair
Collision, grounding, fire and machinery casualty — assessed, repaired and documented so that the repair survives the claim as well as the survey.
A casualty repair is judged twice. Once by the class surveyor, who decides whether the vessel sails, and again — often months later — by the people settling the claim, who decide what was damage and what was pre-existing condition.
Repairs that were executed correctly still cost owners money when the record is thin. Corvaden documents condition before work starts, records what was renewed and to what specification, and hands over a pack that a surveyor or an adjuster can follow without a phone call.
The largest number in a casualty file is rarely the repair. It is the days. Off-hire accrues from the moment the vessel stops, which is why the response and mobilisation commitments are published on every page of this site rather than discussed on request.

Corvaden responds to service enquiries within 6 hours and mobilises within 48 hours. Every hour saved against the figure above is the argument for calling early rather than waiting for a dock slot.

Send the repair specification, the class report and photographs with the first enquiry. Scope confirmed against documents is scope that does not change on arrival.
